On 31 August 2015, Nielsen completed its reorganisation by way of cross-border merger pursuant to which Dutch based Nielsen NV merged into and became Nielsen Holdings plc, a public limited company incorporated under the laws of England and Wales whilst retaining its listing on the New York Stock Exchange. The transaction marked one of the first examples of utilizing a cross-border merger available following implementation of European rules on cross-border mergers in individual member states to give effect to a corporate restructuring resulting in a redomiciliation.
